What is the process for having my shipping container delivered?
For standard container deliveries, you will be provided with an estimated lead time when you place your order. If modifications are needed for the container, this will lead to an increased delivery lead time.
With options for nationwide delivery, the transportation and offloading of units are handled by one of our trusted haulier partners.
Delivery can take place in various ways, depending on the size and number of units. The preferred method for transporting large loads is an articulated lorry, which consists of a tractor and a trailer. Furthermore, containers may also be delivered using a lorry with a drag trailer or a rigid lorry, the latter being more suitable for areas with limited access.
It is crucial to ensure that the site is properly prepared for the offloading of containers, with solid foundations laid for their placement. A stable and level surface is of utmost importance, as uneven ground can cause challenges in opening and closing the container doors.
How Much Does a Shipping Container Cost?
The cost of obtaining a shipping container in the United States can vary greatly due to several factors. Firstly, the condition of the container can affect the price. A brand new 20ft shipping container may currently be priced between $2,000 and $3,000, depending on the supplier. Used containers are generally more affordable, but their prices will fluctuate based on their age and condition. Typically, a second-hand 20ft container can cost between $1,000 and $2,000, making it a more economical option for those with budget constraints.
Moreover, the destination of the shipping container can also influence its price. If you are acquiring a container from a supplier located far from your site, you may face additional delivery fees. Additionally, if you need any alterations to the container, such as adding windows or doors, this will likely increase the total cost.
It is crucial to consider whether you wish to buy or rent a shipping container. Renting may be a more cost-effective option if your need for the container is temporary, as it could be cheaper than purchasing outright. However, if your requirement lasts for a longer period, buying the container might be more beneficial, as you will eventually recoup your investment.
